The KROS-325 (previously KROS-25) controllers are designed for providing safe automatic operation of three-phase electric heating systems based on electrode and heating element boilers with maintenance of the set heating mode and electricity consumption parameters.

The KROS-325 controls two systems of heat carrier circulation simultaneously (contains a separate channel temperature sensor and electrovalve/second pump contact control group for hot water system arrangement (in summer without heating the heating system) or floor heating with independent temperature settings in the systems.

The KROS-25 system ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrode boilers in heating systems made of any material and allows for the use of normal water as the heating medium.

Device and principle of operation

The KROS-325 is a microprocessor-controlled device with solid-state switching of loads (boiler and pump).
The built-in programmable daily timer with real time clock performs on/off/switching of boilers according to the daily programme set by the user. For example, in order to use the night tariff for electricity, program the electric boiler from 23.00 till 7.00, and during the rest of the day the enabling operation command for the gas (second) boiler will be given.
The set and current parameters of the system operation are indicated on the display and LEDs.
Functionally, the KROS-25 consists of five controllers and three boiler power controllers controlled by them, an electronic pump control switch and a three-way valve control relay (or an additional pump).
The boiler current controller limits and stabilises the current (power) of each phase at a level set by the user with a knob on the front panel. For example, for a 9kW boiler, the maximum current is set at 14A.  Then the current on any electrode of the boiler will not exceed the set value under any circumstances (mains voltage surges, increased conductivity of the coolant, etc.). Regulation ? smooth, with the current value of the boiler current displayed on the digital display.
The second function of this controller is to protect the system against short-circuits in the load, in the event of which the boiler switches off immediately and then restarts itself after 5 seconds.
The primary system coolant temperature controller (1) shuts down the boiler when the coolant temperature in the heating system reaches the value set by the user. The coolant temperature cannot be higher than the set value even if the external control devices connected to the KROS-15 continue to issue the "Heating" command.
The Dt1 coolant temperature sensor (Fig.1) is a digital overhead sensor.
The temperature controller (2) of the additional (second) system controls the boiler and the electro-valve/second pump (switches the hot water flow into the additional (second) system) to reach the temperature of the heating medium in this system set by the user. This controller has priority over the other controllers with respect to the maximum temperature of the heating medium/air.
The Dt2 coolant temperature sensor (figure 1) is a digital overhead sensor.
When the temperature reaches the upper limit (set by the user), the temperature controller (2) switches the solenoid valve/stops the second pump for boiler operation to the main (first) system and transfers the priority of the boiler control to the temperature controller (1).
When the temperature drops to a lower value (set by the user), the controller (2) switches the solenoid valve/second pump back on to operate the second system and turn the boiler on.
Controller of external control devices allows to control heating system with different types of devices from simple switch to computer ("Smart House"), and the number of control devices connected to KROS-325 at the same time is not limited.
The controller has two control inputs, for one of which the "heating" command is the closure of its contacts, and for the other - the opening of its contacts (see section 5.2.2. Connecting external control devices).
The internal temperature controller protects the KROS-325 against overheating of the internal and external (radiator) parts of the appliance to prevent its failure by switching off the boiler and pump power. Once the appliance has cooled down, the controller automatically resumes system operation, retaining the previously set parameters.
